Community Musician and Yoga TeacherContact Me
You were born to sing and get joy from making music. Music is healing, helps you communicate with others, builds friendships and communities and most of all is great fun.
Whether you make music a little or a lot with your voice, with a percussion instrument (a drum or even pots and pans), or on an instrument, you are creating something beautiful. My passion is to bring people together to celebrate and generate music of all kinds.
I have been making music for as long as I can remember. I played the piano as a child up to Grade 7 and sung in the Church Choir, the School Choir and the County Choir doing my Grade 5 Singing. I was firmly rooted in the western classical tradition. Later in life I moved to Ireland and discovered a world of joyful community music making. I learned Traditional Irish fiddle, rediscovered my guitar and opened myself to the scope, beauty and unique qualities of ‘vernacular’ (ordinary, day-to-day, normal) music. I trained as a teacher, completed a Traditional Irish Music Course and trained with Frankie Armstrong as a Natural Voice leader.
My main project is Sing Together – regular sessions for adults and children and one off workshops in work places and with community groups.
